How to integrate with state registers and databases?

Short answer

Many state and commercial registers in Latvia provide data through APIs or data services — often with a contract and authentication. Integration lets your system check company details, machinery or other information automatically instead of someone searching the register’s website by hand.

Why it helps

  • Customer details are filled in automatically and correctly.
  • You can check status, owners and registration data.
  • Industry data (for example, on machinery or land) is available right in your work environment.

How it usually works

  1. Find out the access conditions — is the data open, is a contract needed, is the service paid?
  2. Authentication — certificates, API keys or other security mechanisms.
  3. Technical integration — REST, SOAP or data exchange files.
  4. Caching and limits — to avoid unnecessary requests and stay within limits.
  5. Personal data protection — use only the data you have a legal basis for.

Our experience

In the Valtek dealer management system we integrated the VTUA (State Technical Supervision Agency) machinery database, the Lursoft herd register and the LAD (Rural Support Service) land parcel register, as well as the Horizon accounting system. We have also worked with the systems of public institutions — for example, a single sign-on portal for the Financial Intelligence Unit.
