Short answer
Choose a payment service provider that supports the methods you need (cards, bank payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, recurring payments), sign a contract and integrate its API into your system. Confirm the payment status with a webhook, not just when the customer returns to the page.
The most common payment methods
- Card payments.
- Online bank payments.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Recurring payments and subscriptions.
With one payment service provider you can often sign one contract, build one technical integration and offer several payment methods in different countries.
How the integration works
- The provider — compare methods, countries, fees and support.
- Creating the payment — your system creates a payment through the API.
- The customer pays on the provider’s secure page or form.
- Confirmation — your system learns the result through a webhook.
- Next steps — order status, invoice, delivery, accounting.
Several countries
In the Aerodium system each country has its own payment methods, providers, currency, taxes and fee calculation. In cases like this, the payment logic has to be planned into the system architecture from the start.
For security, don’t store card data in your own system — it’s handled by the payment service provider.
