How to get your website found on Google?

Short answer

Make sure Google can index the site (Google Search Console, a sitemap, no blocks), every page has a unique title and description, the content answers specific searches, the site is fast and works well on a phone, and links from other trustworthy sites point to it. Results usually come gradually — over weeks and months.

Checklist

  1. Google Search Console — add the site and submit the sitemap.
  2. Indexing — check that pages don’t have “noindex” and aren’t blocked in robots.txt.
  3. Titles and descriptions — unique for each page, with its main topic.
  4. One topic — one page — a separate page for each service, not everything on one.
  5. Content with answers — texts about what people actually search for.
  6. Internal links — pages linked logically.
  7. Speed and the mobile version.
  8. Google Business Profile — especially for local services.
  9. External links — partners, industry portals, media.

The most common mistakes

  • All the information on one page.
  • Generic texts with nothing specific.
  • The site isn’t updated for years.
  • When moving to a new website, no redirects are set up from the old URLs — and the rankings you’ve built up disappear.

How long to wait

For new sites, results appear gradually. Narrow, specific searches come faster, popular and competitive ones take longer. On AI search: how to appear in AI search.
