Short answer
AI search — Google’s AI answers, ChatGPT search and other assistants — uses content that is easy to find, understand and cite. So you need a technically accessible site, clear and direct answers to questions, structured data, specific facts with sources and information about the company and its experience. There’s no guarantee AI will cite you, but good content greatly improves the chances.
What helps
- Accessibility — search engines and AI crawlers can index the site (for example, robots.txt doesn’t accidentally block Googlebot, Bingbot or OAI-SearchBot).
- Direct answers — the question in the heading, a short answer right after it, more detail further down.
- Structure — headings, lists, tables.
- Structured data — Schema.org (Organization, Article, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList).
- Facts and sources — specific numbers, dates, references to official sources.
- Experience — real projects and examples, not generic texts.
- Consistency — the same information about the company everywhere online.
What not to do
- Generate hundreds of identical, empty pages — both Google and AI rate them low.
- Hide content behind JavaScript that search engines can’t read.
- Make up facts, reviews or statistics.
Example
This White Digital IT Encyclopedia is built on these principles: a separate page for each question with a short answer, topic pages with structured data, links between related questions and sources for facts. The basics: what is SEO.
